How rock stars drink milk..

In shades...in pink sippies...with their mammas.
That's how I would drink milk if I was a rock star.

Pumpkin Farm

Last night we went to a pumpkin farm with some friends for FHE and we had a blast. Justin's, I mean Audrey's favorite was this giant "sandbox" of corn that the kids played in. I wouldn't be surprised if something like this turned up in our backyard. :)
How often do you get to swim in corn??

We went for a little hay ride out to the pumpkin patch...
Picked out some pumpkins (much smaller ones) and had a really good time. Thanks friends for the idea! It was genius!

Took the piggies to the park today...

We went to the park today with some good friends...we took the piggies. Every time I see them it makes me giggle. I am a fan of pig tails. Audrey is a huge fan of swings. What we didn't take was a camera and we missed some really good photo moments...good bye summer, I hope you can stay just a little bit longer. Just enough for a couple more trips to the park.

Piggies!

First set of piggies...and they will probably be pulled out in a few minutes. Maybe she won't be able to find them cause they are on the side. That would be fabulous! He he

Little things before I forget...

Dear Audrey,

This has been an interesting week....you aren't very happy because you are getting teeth, but there have been some little things this week that have really made me laugh. I want to document them somewhere before I forget....
  • The other night I was helping you with your pj's and you had your Dino, you were grabbing his arms and making him wave and say hi to me.
  • You now want me to give kisses to Dino too. Every Dino deserves a little love right???
  • You figured out the faucets on the bath tub...
  • Whenever I try to fix dinner you cry and want me to pick you up and hold you. But if I come in and sit down with you, you run off to play. Silly goose!
  • You give the most excellent hugs this week. They are the best...good and tight. And you have been very snugly and want to be held all the time.
  • The other morning you heard Dad leave but weren't quite ready to get up. You cried and so I brought you in and you laid in bed with me for a while. You just watched the ceiling fan and asked "What's that?" in a sleepy little voice.
  • Whenever you don't want to eat something you cover your eyes like maybe if you don't look at it, it will disappear.
  • You've started to walk around yelling "MOM," and "DAD" if you are trying to find one of us.
  • When you sing the ABC's it sounds something like B A B or B B I
  • All of a sudden you have started having conversations with us and are so serious as you talk that it's hard not to laugh. We can't understand most of what you say but we catch a few words here and there.
We love you so much and are amazed at what a big personality (and attitude) you have in such a little body.

Love,
Mom

This baby is a...

BOY!

Tomato Baby

I love fresh tomatoes in the summer...they are best straight from the garden, sliced with a little salt and pepper. They taste like summer to me.
But this child, likes them straight from the garden, no slicing, no need for anything (except maybe a bib)..

she finished it off and wanted another.

Funny things...

Audrey loves to put change in her piggy bank...but we don't have an unlimited supply of change so I decided to make her a little "play bank" that she can play with all the time. So I used a #10 can and cut a hole in the top so she can put poker chips in it. She plays with it as a bank, but more often lately she tries to put the can on her head (I did cover the sharp spots with tape just in case) but her head and the can are about the same size....you get the idea. On Tuesday she put the can on and just kept pulling it down. She really likes hats lately, but a can hat is hardly comfortable and soon the can was stuck. Really stuck...I would have stopped to take a picture but I was REALLY worried I wouldn't be able to get it off. So she's got the can down around by her ears, screaming and falling to the floor because she can't get it off. I'm pulling and trying to angle it different ways...she got it on somehow so I should be able to get it off right??? We finally got it off after a minute of screaming and pulling.

It's funny now...I really wished I had taken a picture.

You'd think that our experience would discourage her from putting the can on her head again...nope...

Visit to the Aquarium

While we were in Utah we went to watch Jordan play lacrosse in Sandy and while we were there we decided to stop by the aquarium. And well really, who doesn't love a bunch of fun fish, right??
Loving the fish...the first tanks we went to were the fish of Utah...not very pretty or exciting, but she loved them. She just kept pointing to them and saying "WOW,"and "WHOA."
Audrey and Uncle Jordan on the giant frog
Grandma and Audrey checking out the cool fish
The shark tank was pretty sweet too...but our favorite was probably the penguin display. I have never seen happier penguins(probably because they had some pretty sweet AC). They were really cute! And of course Grandpa spoiled Audrey a little and bought her this really cute stuffed turtle that she was in love with. Since we drove down in two cars, Grandpa pulled up next to our car so he could wave to Audrey, he'd wave, she'd show him the turtle and then give it a hug. There's nothing cuter than grandpas and granddaughters!

Playing at Grandma's house

See, I told you, she turned into a total ham and cheese sandwich this weekend.
First time in a puddle...this kid loves water. She plays in the hose, in the tub, in the dog's water dish (sick), she dumps it on the floor...luckily we didn't have any trouble with her trying to get into the pond at Grandma & Grandpa's.
This is my Mom's pond...its beautiful!

Jared's Wedding

We went to Utah last week for a wedding. It was hot, the drive was long but it turned out to be a beautiful weekend for them. Minus the rain during their reception...but they did get a rainbow. :)
Jared and Audrey checking out the flowers
Jared and Amy (she's really nice, we like her a lot and you can tell he loves her like crazy!)
The child has turned into a total cheese...just like her Dad.
Uh, huh, total cheeses. Cute and handsome cheeses!

On a side note, just to let you all know, a word of advice. Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT cut your hair just before a wedding and do something new and crazy cause you just might end up with a mullet that you can't get fixed by your regular lady cause there is no time and your hair dresser friend in another state has to fix for you because its the day before the wedding. Because you might not be so lucky and have a nice friend to fix your hair before family pictures. Thank heavens for hair dresser friends in other states!`
